Learn more about how to take better pictures and video by getting into a Photo & Video Class.

This specialty teaches you the skills needed to dive with an underwater camera, and provides the in-depth knowledge and experience required to properly use, maintain and store your equipment. Our goal is help you capture your amazing underwater experiences. The certification can be entirely completed in confined water.

 

What you will learn:

  • Digital underwater camera systems

  • General and underwater digital photography

  • Basic underwater shooting

  • Digital file formats and image resolution

  • Making your underwater photos lighter or darker

  • Exposure for underwater photography

  • Improving your photos with lighting

  • Underwater photo composition

  • Using built-in flashes underwater

Prerequisites:

Number of dives: Confined water training is required and fully completed in our indoor pool in Colorado Springs!

No open water dives are required.

Underwater Photography Seminar - $175

Are you an avid diver AND an avid photographer?
Take your photo skills to the next level by joining our Instructor Roger (a graduate of the NY Institute of Photography!) in a Photo Seminar that will give you fun assignments and personalized critique throughout the week!

This seminar can happen on any of our trips.

The only prerequisite is this Photo & Video specialty, although the Buoyancy specialty is highly recommended too. If you have any specific questions let us know and we’ll put you in touch directly with the instructor.

Important note:

One of the documents required for this course is the Medical Statement. Depending on your answers to the questionnaire a physician’s or other legally certified medical provider’s signature on the Medical Statement might be required prior to you getting in the water. It is important to read the form ahead of time so you have plenty of time to set an appointment if necessary. Click HERE to download the form.

You can learn how to tell if a physician’s or other legally certified medical provider’s signature is required by reading the form’s instructions or our FAQ. Don’t worry if you still are unsure whether a signature is required on your form or not, once you sign the course’s DocuSign Packet, we will contact you about it, if needed. Please remember that the Medical Statement’s 3rd page must be signed by a DO, MD, NP, or PA-C. A Doctor’s Note is NOT acceptable.
